Ferrara Manufacturing Honored as a Fashion Manufacturing Initiative Grant Recipient

Published on February 10, 2016

In 2016, Ferrara Manufacturing was proud to be named one of seven recipients of the prestigious Fashion Manufacturing Initiative (FMI) grant. This program, developed by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) in partnership with the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), supports local fashion manufacturing and promotes growth within New York City's fashion sector.

As a women’s apparel tailoring factory, Ferrara Manufacturing was awarded funding to invest in equipment, infrastructure upgrades, and workforce training to enhance its production capabilities and contribute to the city’s thriving fashion industry. The grants, ranging from $10,000 to $300,000, enable local manufacturers to adopt cutting-edge technology and remain competitive in a rapidly evolving market.

The FMI grant recognized Ferrara’s excellence in tailoring and commitment to sustaining New York’s garment district, a historic hub for high-quality fashion production. This funding milestone represents a shared vision for bolstering domestic manufacturing, creating economic growth, and preserving the city's rich fashion heritage.

Ferrara Manufacturing joins a distinguished group of recipients, including innovators specializing in leather, embellishments, and pleating, reflecting the diversity of talent within NYC’s fashion ecosystem.
