Ferrara Manufacturing is Awarded the 2018 Crain's Family Business Award

Published June 18, 2018

In 2018, Ferrara Manufacturing proudly received the Crain’s New York Family Business Award, a recognition of our dedication to craftsmanship, innovation, and family-driven values. Established in 1987 by Carolyn and Joseph Ferrara, and now joined by their daughter Gabrielle Ferrara, the company has continually evolved to meet the demands of the modern fashion industry while staying true to its roots.

Operating from our 12,000-square-foot factory in Manhattan’s Garment District, Ferrara Manufacturing is at the forefront of combining traditional tailoring techniques with cutting-edge technology. Using 3D scanning to create custom luxury suits, we are breaking new ground in women’s custom clothing, a space traditionally dominated by men’s tailoring.

“Women’s custom clothing has not been conquered—until now,” Carolyn Ferrara, CEO, said.

Over the years, Ferrara Manufacturing has grown to employ 65 full-time and 10 part-time team members, generating revenues in the $10 to $15 million range. From pattern making to hand sewing, our team provides bespoke sewn-goods services that reflect our craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail. As a family-owned business, this award celebrates our journey of blending legacy and innovation, bringing new possibilities to luxury manufacturing.
