Published July 22, 2021

Ferrara Manufacturing is proud to share that Chief Operating Officer Gabrielle Ferrara has been recognized by The Manufacturing Institute with a prestigious STEP Ahead Award, celebrating her leadership and excellence in American manufacturing. The award highlights Gabrielle’s dedication to empowering Ferrara Manufacturing’s workforce and fostering a positive, inclusive environment within the garment industry.

“I am honored to receive this award,” said Gabrielle Ferrara. “At Ferrara Manufacturing, we continue to build our modern manufacturing organization by seeing the direct benefits of empowering our workforce and creating a positive, diverse, and passionate work environment and culture. I thank everyone on our team, my parents, and The Manufacturing Institute for supporting our vision for the future of American garment engineering.”

As a family-owned, women-led company, Ferrara Manufacturing has championed diversity since its founding in 1987. Over half of the company’s skilled workforce is women, a reflection of its commitment to creating equitable opportunities in American manufacturing.

“Our company is built on excellence,” added Carolyn Ferrara, owner and co-founder. “It is vital that manufacturing continues to diversify our leadership base in order to create a more equitable and sustainable industry.”

The STEP Women’s Initiative, led by The Manufacturing Institute, is dedicated to closing the gender gap in manufacturing by celebrating the achievements of exceptional women leaders and inspiring future generations through mentorship and advocacy. As the industry faces a growing skills gap, programs like STEP Ahead underscore the importance of bringing more women into the manufacturing workforce to build a stronger, more innovative future.
